Recently, Timothy Ferris, the author of 4 Hour Work Weeks attended a David Blaine seminar teaching people how to hold their breath for minutes at a time.
Below you’ll find the steps for holding your breath for over 3 minutes.
By following the 10 easy steps below, these are my personal results:
Before: 1 minute and 12 seconds
After: 3 minutes and 44 seconds. (No B.S)
(As a guide, Harry Houdini’s personal record is 3 minutes and 30 seconds)
10 Easy Steps for Holding Your Breathe for Over 3 Minutes
1- Start with 90 seconds of “deep breathing”. (Deep Breathing: Involves taking a deep breath through your mouth, holding for 1 second, then breathing out for 10 seconds with your mouth almost closed)
2- Hold your breath for 90 seconds. (No more than that)
3- Follow with 3 “semi purging breathes”. (Semi Purging: Basically a very strong inhale and exhale)
4- 90 seconds of “deep breathing”
5- 90 seconds of “purging” (Purging: Strongest exhale possible followed by an even stronger inhale)
6- Hold your breath for 2 minutes and 30 seconds. (No more than that)
7- Follow with 3 “semi purging breathes”
8- 2 minutes of “deep breathing”
9- 1 minutes and 45 seconds of “purging”
10- Hold your breath for as long as possible
